AmerWrecka was inspired by the last presidential election in the states. Because so many of us were devastated by the results, I felt a need to take some action.

So I put my “anx” to paper and the result was AmerWrecka. With the help of twelve working members of The Actor’s Lab, we have molded this play into something we are quite proud of. The play has been described as a cross between the films, Moulin Rouge and Fahrenheit 911.

I choose to think of it as an original idea all to it’s own. With music, the spirit of the 1960’s, humor and an honest look at America, this play speaks to the hippie in all of us. It’s a journey of discovery and a wild evening of entertainment.

Premiering this project at The Fringe Festival is especially exciting for me. I had my start as an actor at The Fringe, 24 years ago, doing a show called, The Plaything. In addition, I get to introduce twelve actors from Los Angeles to the beauty and splendor of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Peace.

“AmerWrecka is destined for great success!!! With the writing and directing talents of one of America’s best, J.D. Lewis, and this cast of talented actors, this is a must see, both at it’s premiere in Edinburgh, Scotland at The Fringe, and in Los Angeles at Highway’s Performance Space.”
